Full-Time Plan of Study

As a full-time Speech@NYU student, you may be able to earn your degree in as few as six or seven terms. Your length of study will depend on the number of foundation courses you need to complete before beginning graduate-level courses. If you are admitted to the program, Speech@NYU faculty will review your transcripts and undergraduate course work to determine the number of foundation courses you need to complete.

Each foundation course is available online through the program.

  • Anatomy and Physiology of the Speech and Swallow Mechanism
  • Neurological Bases of Cognition, Behavior, and Communication
  • Phonetics
  • Science of Language
  • Speech Development and Disorders in Children
  • Language Development and Disorders in Children
  • Introduction to Audiology and Aural Rehabilitation

Below is a sample course schedule for the full-time Speech@NYU program when no foundation courses are required. In addition to the courses below, you will also take the Master of Science Student Seminar each term you are enrolled.

If you are admitted to the program, Speech@NYU faculty will review your transcripts and undergraduate course work to determine if you are eligible for this plan of study. The course sequence is subject to change upon enrollment.
