Keep Moving Toward Your Goals with NYU Steinhardt

The Top Four Reasons to Apply to NYU Steinhardt Right Now

Our students, alumni, and faculty have one thing in common: They are high achievers who are driven to make people’s lives better. Here are the top four reasons aspiring SLPs are applying to our online program.

You receive hands-on clinical experience to work toward become a licensed SLP.

Licensure requirements vary by state, but with Speech@NYU, you’ll earn an ASHA-accredited master’s degree and complete 400 hours of clinical experience.

Many SLPs must also pass the Praxis exam in speech-language pathology. For 2017-2018, students in our on-campus program – which upholds the same standards of excellence as the online program – had a 100 percent Praxis exam passing rate.1

We offer application fee waivers.

If you attend a webinar and then submit your application, Speech@NYU will waive your application fee. The waiver is available for two weeks after you attend the webinar. Register for a webinar.

You have the option to participate in a study abroad opportunity.

NYU Steinhardt’s online and on-campus students have the opportunity to spend five weeks at Lund University in Lund, Sweden, to study communicative sciences and disorders from a cross-cultural perspective.

You will form connections with your peers while attending classes, visiting local sites such as hospitals and rehab centers, and learning about the field in a different part of the world.

We can help you pay for the GRE.

If you haven’t yet taken the GRE, we may be able to cover your registration fees if you take the test and submit your Speech@NYU application. Contact an admissions counselor at 888-698-0462 to learn more.
